EF+Math Launches R&D Hub to Promote Equity in Math Learning
We’re proud to announce the launch of the new EF+Math website and resource library, created in partnership with Advanced Education Research and Development Fund (AERDF) as the culmination of five years of research and development.
EF+Math set out to dramatically improve math learning outcomes for students in grades 3–8—especially Black and Latino students and those experiencing poverty by strengthening a core asset every student has: executive function (EF) skills. As a time-limited R&D program, EF+Math brought together researchers, developers, educators, and students to explore how EF skills, math learning, and students’ perceptions intersect to create more equitable learning experiences.
As the program concludes in March 2026, our goal was to create an accessible, informative resource hub to preserve and amplify its impact long after it sunsets.
Key features of the new site include:
- Interactive data visualization: Showing the relationship between executive function (EF) skills, math perceptions, and math learning.
- Comprehensive resources: A searchable, filterable repository of 175+ publications, measures, reports, and tools.
- Inclusive R&D toolkit: Practical, actionable resources that share EF+Math’s unique approach.
We’re honored to have partnered with EF+Math and AERDF to design a digital home that captures the breadth of this work and ensures its lessons, tools, and impact continue to shape the field.

About EF+Math
EF+Math was an inclusive R&D program that launched in 2019 and conducted research and development (R&D) from 2020 to 2025 as a five-year, intentionally time-bound program. Founded on the belief that every student is brilliant and capable of learning rigorous mathematics, the program brought together an interdisciplinary community of 700+ educators, researchers, and developers to re-imagine how math learning experiences are created. EF+Math was the inaugural program of the Advanced Education Research and Development Fund (AERDF) and was funded by the Gates Foundation and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI).
